  • My prediction for cutting the green rope: we go from springs in series to springs in parallel, springs in parallel are "harder" so that will tend to lift the weight. If the weight rises or falls depends on Hooke's constant, the weight of the weight, and the amount of slack in the ropes. l1 = 2mg/k l2 = mg/2k l1 - l2 = 3mg/2k
  • The way you explained this is SO clear. Thank you
  • Verit has a new dollar-store white Derek? What happened to the old one?
  • But what happened to the eyebrow?
  • Hmm... earthquake dampers if produced at huge scale
  • what you don't know and can learn from this is that, in a way, the ropes are springs, and the springs are ropes. and you can also start to understand material science as a non intuitive
  • I would gladly pay a premium for that umbrella
  • 2:25 super simple, you're shifting the responsibility of the material of the springs, with the rope the weight dangles from the springs in unison, cut the rope and the responsibility of the springs shifts to invert them into tension resisters' supported by more rope material... so why does changing the overall tess of the line matter... because LENGTH... when the springs are made to stretch longer over less supporting structure "the additional rope" they are weaker
  • 2:11 in reality it feels obvious to me because I can see that all of the tension is on the top spring
  • A visual representation of electrical resistance
  • Is this how gluon bridges work? Like instead of what the theory suggests. That if we keep pulling on quarks we´ll spawn a new pair in the middle. Out of pure Gluon force. Do we get something like this? Like the universe becoming stiffer to a point where you seriously need to break light speed or massively curve the universe (like at the borders of the event horizons that every massive particle generates) to truly generate Hawking radiation?
  • And this is how black holes are created
  • Behold how we defy physics, using physics
  • Interacting with negative mass be like
  • Having just recently finished a dynamics class last semester really made me think when asked what would happen with the springs and crazy how that class helped me reason why it would shrink before I even saw the part where it did
  • Algorithm finally did something right
  • I wonder if anyone noticed that the video of the earth from space is reversed (mirrored) at 12:08...
  • 1:41 the springs were is series, you cut it you out them in parallel, of course it was going to pull up
  • It will go up since the springs will be in parallel instead of series? 1:44
